Prevention
The key to creating positive dental experiences and preventing dental disease is getting in early.
So we encourage families to engage with our services as soon as your child gets their first teeth coming through, between 6-12 months of age.
This way we can provide you and your family with the best tricks and tips on keeping your child’s mouth healthy and happy.
Bendigo Children’s Dentistry keeps up to date with the latest evidence and technology supporting minimal intervention dentistry, meaning we use the most advanced methods for preventing dental disease and for stopping dental disease from getting worse, often without having to resort to “traditional” methods of dental treatment including “drilling and filling”. If dental decay is caught early enough, we usually never have to resort to using local anaesthesia (the dreaded “needle”!). Some of our minimally invasive preventive treatments include dental cleaning, fluoride application, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), “Hall technique” stainless steel crowns and non-restorative cavity control.
