Specialist Paediatric Dentist

BDSc (Hons), FRACDS (GDP), DCD (Paediatric Dentistry), MRACDS (Paed)

Dr Amanda Leske is a registered Specialist Paediatric Dentist and General Dentist, Senior Lecturer at La Trobe University, and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Dr Amanda began her dental career in Bendigo 16 years ago and has extensive experience working in both private and public dental settings, as well providing education for both Melbourne University and La Trobe University dental students.

Seeing the need for more comprehensive paediatric dental services in the Bendigo region, Dr Amanda returned to The University of Melbourne to complete her specialist Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Paediatric Dentistry) in 2020. These studies gave Dr Amanda vast experience working with children with disabilities and complex dental needs, being employed for multiple years at The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne including being on call managing dental injuries. These post-graduate studies also led to Dr Amanda publishing multiple papers in peer reviewed journals focusing on prevention of tooth decay and management of dental anomalies.

Since returning to Bendigo, Amanda has enjoyed the role of Senior Dentist at Bendigo Health Community Dental Service, being responsible for the clinical governance of the 31-chair clinic and provided extensive mentoring and support for many dentists and students. After many years of planning and hard work, Amanda’s dream to open Bendigo’s very first dedicated specialist children’s dental clinic is finally becoming a reality in 2023.

When not talking teeth, you will find Dr Amanda spending time with her husband and two young boys who love bike riding, kayaking, camping, reading and watching Harry Potter movies. Currently with two children, three step-children and two grandchildren, Dr Amanda understands the many different phases of childhood and individuality of children, and can tailor her dental care to the personal circumstances of each child and family to achieve best outcomes.
